MBBA, short for Maryland Business Brokers Association, is an organization that assists in the buying and selling of businesses and commercial properties within the state of Maryland and throughout the greater DC Metro Area.
MBBA was founded in 1999, with their first president, John Richa, being elected on May 5, 1999. Currently, the president of MBBA is Dustin Zeher. Zeher was nominated due to his years of experience in the industry as well as his involvement in other associations like the CVBBA, IBBA, as well as being part of BizBuySell's Broker Advisory Committee.
MBBA's quarterly and first in-person meeting since the start of Covid-19 was a great turnout. With the presence of the Board, Members, and new guests, Zeher introduced exciting news including MBBA's partnership with the CVBBA (Carolinas-Virginia Business Brokers Association) and the CVBBA's partnership with the IBBA (International Business Brokers Association) in hopes to bring all the benefits of the CVBBA and IBBA directly to the MBBA in the near future. Zeher is improving on the access to a membership and listings database which will feature exclusive listing opportunities, social media groups, educational courses, as well as an improved open environment for sound boarding and shared knowledge.

John Lin, President & CEO of CapStar Commercial Realty, built one of the most ethnically diverse commercial real estate companies in the Baltimore and Washington region. Lin joined the board officially on the first of December and will be assisting MBBA with making the association a better place with education, cohesiveness between brokers, and creating a better database system for brokers. Lin has a team-based policy at CapStar, stating, “the business of commercial real estate just can’t be done alone.”
